Code of Conduct

Code of Conduct

 

These are lists of rules and regulations that are put together for the good of the Northwind Indoor Color Guard

 

 

1.       There shall be under no circumstances, any arguing between performers or performers and staff.  It is unproductive and a waste of everyone’s precious time and will not be tolerated.  Any disagreements will be handled privately.

 

2.       The use of illegal drugs or alcohol by anyone associated with the NWICG is strictly prohibited. Anyone caught will be terminated. NO EXCEPTIONS!

 

3.       Any unwanted advances or sexual harassment by anyone in the NWICG will not be tolerated, and immediate termination from the guard will occur and legal actions maybe taken.

 

4.       Any rude, obnoxious, violent behavior will not be tolerated; you will be suspended from all guard activities for a time period to be determined by the Executive Director of the NWICG.  If behavior persists, termination from the guard will occur.

 

5.       There will be no swearing, cursing, or disrespect of anyone at anytime while you are with the NWICG, there will be no questions asked and you will be asked to leave the organization.

 

6.       Any damage to property anywhere that the NWICG is assembled (home or away), will result in the calling of the proper authorities (owner of facility and police).  Payment of damages will be the sole responsibility of those who have incurred the damage.  Willful and malicious damage will result in a suspension from all guard activities for a time period determined by the Executive Director of the NWICG.  Any damages not paid to the proper authorities listed above in the time frame stipulated on the bill, will result in the permanent dismissal from the NWICG.  NO EXCEPTIONS!

 

7.       At all performances, all members of the NWICG, staff and parents will act in accordance with professionalism and fair play.  Setting a good example is primary to becoming a successful organization.

 

8.       Chronic absenteeism will not be tolerated; all members are required to attend ALL rehearsals and performances.  If unable to get a ride, call the Executive Director at least 1 hour before rehearsal or meeting to work out arrangements for pickup.  If unable to attend rehearsals or other activities, please contact the Executive Director immediately.

 

9.       Parents of performers under the age of 18 will be called immediately in regards to misconduct, and must pick up their child whether at a home or away practice.  If at a competition, the parents of the guard member will accept the responsibility of any costs incurred to keeping their child safe, yet separated from the other guard members.  (This may include separate room costs and hiring of security at the expense of the family of the person causing he problem.)  Under NO circumstances will the remaining guard members be subjected to improper behavior, nor will be punished for the wrongdoing of another.  Automatic dismissal from the NWICG will occur.  NO EXCEPTIONS!

 

10.       The Executive Director of the NWICG must approve all fundraisers.  All profits are the sole property of the NWICG.  Any misrepresentation of the NWICG name to secure monies will result in legal action.  All monies not turned over by former members (whether leaving on their own accord or by dismissal from the organization), will be subject to collection by legal means at he cost of those holding the money.  All monies must be turned over to the Executive Director or the Assistant Director who will give a written receipt.  Do not under any circumstances give monies to another guard member, if it is not turned over to the Director or to the Fundraising Chairperson, you will be personally responsible for obtaining credit and receipt.

 

11.   All monies, coming into the organization (dues, fundraised monies, purchases of personal equipment) will be accepted in the form of a check or money order only.  If cash must be given, a written receipt will be written. It is the sole responsibility of the guard member to make sure that proper procedures are followed.

 

12.   Because the NWICG is an active member of the Boy Scouts of America, it is required that all members pay the proper membership fees to be a member of the NWICG and each member of the organization is required to participate in all fundraising activities whether an organizational fundraiser or individual.  Fundraisers will be provided by the NWICG Management to help defray the costs of participating in the NWICG
